BMW REMOTE START – ENGINE REMOTE START
Coding on-site (Payerne / Nyon) or remotely
Enable the feature Genuine BMW Remote Engine Start (option 1CR) and start your engine remotely straight from your genuine BMW key or from the app.
3-click startup
Lock the vehicle and then press Press the BMW key lock button 3 times quickly or from your phone on the BMW app.
The engine starts remotely and the climate control system automatically prepares the cabin:

The vehicle must feature:
- Petrol engine (diesel and hybrid not compatible)
- Automatic gearbox
- BDC3-compatible module (we’ll check this against the chassis)
- iDrive 7 / iDrive 8 / iDrive 8.5 depending on the vehicle
- Electronic configuration compatible with BMW option 1CR
2 Series G42 → all years compatible subject to configuration
3 Series G20 / G21 → from around 07/2019
Series 4 G22 / G23 / G26 all years subject to configuration
5 Series G30 / G31 → mainly LCI, roughly from 2020 onwards
Series 6 GT G32 → mainly LCI, roughly from 2020 onwards
7 Series G11 / G12 mainly LCI, from around 2019 onwards
Series 8 G14 / G15 / G16 → mainly from 2022 onwards
X3 / X4 G01 / G02 → mainly LCI, from around 2021 onwards
X5 G05 all years subject to configuration
X6 / X7 G06 / G07 -> mainly from mid-2019 onwards
M2 G87 / M3 G80-G81 / M4 G82-G83 → compatible subject to automatic gearbox and vehicle configuration
BMW Z4 G29 all years compatible subject to configuration
