Description
Has your BMW key stopped working? The central control buttons no longer respond, but your vehicle still starts when you insert the key?
Problems encountered
The central control buttons (open, close, boot release) no longer work, and the vehicle displays a discharged battery error on the meter.
How much does it cost to have it repaired?
Replacing the internal battery soldered to the PCB (printed circuit board) : CHF 150.00
Why isn't there a slot for replacing the battery?
Unfortunately, vehicles without the Keyless (comfort access) option cannot replace the key's internal battery. This is soldered onto the electronic board. The battery recharges inductively when inserted into the ignition slot, and generally lasts for several years.
What is the repair process?
You can choose between :
- A on-site repair (approx. 1 hour)
- A repair by post (by sending us the key)
📞 Contact us before servicing or shipping your key!

How do you know if the problem is with the key and not the vehicle?
If you have a second keytest it.
- If the two keys do not workIt is unlikely that the problem lies with the key.
- If in doubt, we can test whether your key is emitting a radio signal.
