How much does a new FRM module for BMW or MINI cost?

A new lighting module costs more than CHF 800. We can repair your FRM module for as little as CHF 170 (incl. VAT), with a 12-month guarantee!

How much does it cost to have it repaired?

We offer two repair solutions:

Dismantling and sending the FRM module to our premises for repair: CHF 170 (CONTACT US BEFORE)
Full service, turnkey solution on our premises: CHF 250.00

What is the success rate of repairs?

The repair success rate is close to 100 %, provided that no other repair attempt has been made previously. Otherwise, the data could be corrupted, making recovery impossible.

Does the box need to be reprogrammed or coded after repair?

Not with us! We recover the data from your module, restore it and reprogram everything to match your vehicle's chassis number. This makes reassembly plug-and-play.

How long will it take to repair my FRM module if I ship it?

Repairs usually take one working day. In order to check our availability and list your part correctly, please contact us by WhatsApp or telephone before sending us your FRM module.

Symptoms of a faulty FRM 3 (one or more) :

- Non-functional front windows

- Headlights, brake lights and indicators no longer work

- Dipped headlights on all the time

- Red indicator light (car on lift in handset)

- Door open warning and D-start not possible (X5 and X6 E7x).

- Non-diagnostic FRM (OBD)

I have a blocked output on my FRM (1 & 2) or NFRM, but the rest works.

Symptoms of a blocked exit FRM I, II or III :

- A single lighting element no longer works (e.g. reversing light no longer works, despite bulb replacement)

We can also unblock your FRM 1, 2 and 3 in the event of a short-circuit (blocked exit, only with the vehicle on site).

Fault code: 9CBA, 9CBB, 9CB9, etc (short-circuit error).

Generally, this problem is caused by a short-circuit in the harness, water ingress or an incorrectly sized bulb.

Could the problem reappear?

It is possible that the problem will reappear in the years to come, as it is unfortunately a design fault. The FRM module is sensitive to voltage drops, and it's not uncommon for this problem to occur after a battery change. If your battery is weak, we recommend that you replace it to eliminate the main cause. What's more, a new module is no exception to this rule, as we've already seen. However, if you would like to use a new module, we can program it into your vehicle.
