Problems restarting or getting a black screen on your BMW iDrive system?
Does your iDrive system (CCC, CIC, NBT, NBT EVO, MGU or Professional Radio) keep restarting, get stuck on the BMW logo or stop launching navigation? It could be a faulty iDrive unit, but this is not always the case.
How can I identify the source of the iDrive fault?
Many components are interconnected to your vehicle's multimedia system:

On certain models, in particular BMW Fxx models equipped with the CICthe system operates on a fibre optic network (MOST) which must be closed. This means that if a module, such as the CD changer or Bluetooth, is disconnected, the iDrive will not start and the screen remains black.
On previous generations (e.g. BMW E9x or E6x with CCC), a faulty Bluetooth module can cause a loop restart of the unit.
👉 Important The iDrive unit is not necessarily faulty. A complete diagnosis is needed. We suggest free of charge for this test phase if you carry out the replacement with us.
